Oishi Judo

There will be a dojo tournament on Sat., Sept. 6, at the usual class time (1:00).

Oishi Judo is one of the oldest active judo clubs in New York City. It was founded in 1969 by Shiro Oishi, who continues to teach classes and give private lessons.

Visitors are always welcome. If you would like to watch a class, you can call in advance or simply drop by.

Instructors

Shiro Oishi came to America as an art student in his early 20s and started Oishi Judo Club in 1969. Sensei Oishi holds a 7th degree black belt and was an AAU National Masters Judo Champion, AAU National Judo Champion, and AAU National Wrestling Champion. A few of Sensei's sketches and paintings are on display in the dojo.

Dave Williams is a 2nd degree black belt and a national-level referee. Sensei Williams teaches the Tuesday and Thursday night classes.
